A wellknown and unmistakable raptor. The white head, breast and neck distinguish it even at a distanve. The immature looks like other brown eagles, but has bare legs and shows the beginning of the white breast. The loud yelping call is often heard near larger bodies of water. The pair spends a lot of time perched in a tall tree. Fish are caught by swooping down and grabbing themn in the talons. Nests in trees. |
