Identified by the blue face, breast and flanks. The crown, back and wings are brown. The female is paler than the male. The immature is ecen paler than the female with a dark bill. Found along ricers and in open thornveld with patches of grass, shrubs and bare areas. Small flocks forage on teh ground, often mixing with other seedeaters. When disturbed, it flies into the nearest tree. |
